2022 Volkswagen ID 6 Release Date, Price, Specs, & Pictures. The upcoming 2022 Volkswagen ID 6 is the newest member of the brand’s family of electric cars. Based on the ID Buzz concept, this model will deliver a great driving range, impressive styling, and very modern interior design. The ID 6 variant was spied a few days ago. The first look at the prototype didn’t left us in surprise. It is a mid-size crossover with three rows of seats and a room for seven passengers.
The complete ID lineup will wear the same design language so there is no room for a significant upgrade. The platform is stretched and the interior will offer a couple of interesting novelties. As for the performance, ID 6 crossover will produce plenty of power, and the driving range could deliver around 250 miles. While the price is not available yet, this crossover will go on sale in the next twelve months.

The lack of camouflage on the spy photos clearly suggests that this model is less than a year away. The all-new 2022 Volkswagen ID 6 has been spied with camo around the lights and grille. The rest of the vehicle is uncovered. The front fascia is covered with Peugeot stickers, which is a common thing in the automotive industry. The ID 6 will ride on the famous MEB platform.
This architecture is stretched. While the concept measures 193.5 inches, the new ID 6 will be slightly longer. The design language is the same as on the concept but ID 6 will depart from the minivan-style sliding doors. Moreover, Volkswagen will offer traditional mirrors, so there will be no cameras.
INTERIOR RUMOURS
So far, there are no pictures of the interior. The 2022 Volkswagen ID 6 should not depart from the rest of the ID lineup. The mid-size crossover will be similar to its siblings. There will be room for seven passengers across the three rows of seats. According to VW, the cabin is very spacious thanks to the smaller electric motors and smart interior layout. The front part comes with a row of buttons below the dashboard.
That includes buttons for climate control and emergency braking. Moreover, steering wheel sports plenty of buttons as well. We like the lighting scheme or “ID.Light system” as Volkswagen like to call it. This system consists of a light strip below the screen and it changes color to signal the navigation prompts. The light changes with you have an incoming call.
2022 VOLKSWAGEN ID 6 SYSTEM USES DUAL-MOTOR SETUP
This crossover is still one year away so exact performance specs are not available. However, we know for sure that the 2022 Volkswagen ID 6 will offer multiple powertrain options. At least one powertrain will consist of a dual-motor setup and it will produce around 305 horsepower. According to the German manufacturer, the crossover will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds.
Top speed is rated at 111 mph. The ID Roomz concept comes with an 82-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery and ID 6 crossover will be no different. Volkswagen promises 250 miles of electric driving range. Lastly, fast charging is available and you can charge your ID 6 to 80% in about half an hour.
PRICE AND RELEASE DATE
To this date, VW confirmed ID 4 crossover for the American markets. On the other hand, the new 2022 Volkswagen ID 6 will firstly go on sale in China. Its arrival on American shores is still a mystery. Another mystery is its price, but we know the sales will start in less than a year.
