2022 JEEP WRANGLER 4XE PLUG-IN HYBRID SPECS
The all-new 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Plug-In Hybrid will use a 17.3-kWh lithium-ion battery and electric motors. A 2.0-liter turbo-four engine is also in the offer, so the electrified setup delivers 375 horsepower. This SUV can produce up to 470 lb-ft of torque. The all-electric range is rated at 25 miles. It is the most powerful Wrangler so far, and it will be available in base 4xe, Rubicon and Sahara trim.
An eight-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system are offered as standard. That, Wrangler 4xe comes with Dana 44 solid front and rear axles. Coil springs and new monotube shocks are available. According to Jeep, Wrangler 4xe will take around two hours to fully recharge its battery.
2022 JEEP WRANGLER 4XE FEATURING MILD EXTERIOR UPGRADES
The new 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Plug-In Hybrid SUV is available in a couple of variants. It can be had in the regular Wrangler 4xe, Sahara 4xe, and Rubicon 4xe versions. The base 4xe Wrangler will look exactly the same as the gasoline-powered Wrangler Sport. The only difference is an electrified powertrain and better performances. As for the Sahara and Rubicon 4xe, two models are looking more premium and sportier.
However, departure angles are the same: 43.8, 22.5, and 35.5 degrees. Moreover, the ground clearance is also rated at 10.8 inches. Still, Rubicon 4xe can ford almost 30 inches of water. The 4xe models are “Trail Rated” which is Jeep’s way of saying they can beat the most challenging off-road terrains. Lastly, 4xe models are equipped with exclusive 20-inch wheels.
FIRST LOOK INSIDE
The interior of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Plug-In Hybrid will also mirror the interior of the Wrangler Sport model. However, the 4xe variant will add a 7-inch touchscreen and a premium audio system. The cabin layout and list of equipment won’t depart from the rest of the Wrangler lineup.
The cabin will get Electric Blue stitching on the trim panels and the seats. The coolest thing is the Electric mode. It is one of three “E Selec” modes that can be activated via a button on the left side of the steering wheel.
PRICE AND RELEASE DATE
The production of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Plug-In Hybrid will be assembled in brand’s Ohio plant. Jeep didn’t say anything about the price, but 4xe will surely cost than the optional diesel that costs $5,000. According to the newest reports, the sales will begin in the first quarter of 2022.
